While Cirque Du Soleil is known for taking their shows on tour, one show has found a home in the glittering city of Las Vegas, Nevada. The LOVE show is somewhat of a tribute to the Beatles, with popular Beatles tracks making up the bulk of the show’s audio elements. This incredible band inspired many people around the world at one time, but their music continues to inspire people today when it is put to use in such an expressive way as this.
In order to make this production possible, Cirque Du Soleil joined forces with The Beatles’ Apple Corps Ltd. The show is written and directed completely by Dominic Champagne, with Sir George Martin acting as music director. Martin is perfect for this job as he produced much of the Beatles’ early record releases.
LOVE is the product of a personal relationship between the late Beatles member, George Harrison, and the founder of Cirque Du Soleil, Guy Laliberte. It was created out of mutual admiration between the two to recognize the incredible impact that Beatles music has had on the country and the world.
As one of the most recognized and beloved rock bands of all time, the Beatles affected many lives in many different ways. LOVE attempts to combine all of the inspirational elements with vivid visual presentations that are sure to engage the mind and tingle the senses.
If you are a fan of the Beatles, or hoping to experience their legacy in a different way, LOVE would be a great way to spend some of your time in Las Vegas. Sixty young artists make up the cast of this epic production, each offering special skills and talents to add to the otherworldly nature of a Cirque Du Soleil presentation.
A soundtrack of the show is available, as LOVE offers familiar Beatles tunes with a fantastical twist. While the soundtrack can be purchased from multiple sources, the show is currently only available to see in Las Vegas, at the glorious Mirage hotel and casino.
The Mirage hosts LOVE in a special venue that was built specifically for this purpose to allow audiences to experience the full panoramic experience. Tickets can be purchased by phone, over the internet, or at the venue when remaining. They run from $79 to $155, depending on the location of the seat. Cirque Du Soleil also offers group reservations or Dinner and Show packages for LOVE.
LOVE plays twice a day for five days out of the week. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are dark, but every other day will see a performance starting at 7:00 pm and a second beginning at 9:30 pm. The doors open 30 minutes before the start of the show, and we recommend you check the website for any possible changes or conflicts.
